Twitter Trends Are Available In 21 Indian Cities

Twitter continues to show its interest for India. According to a latest blog post by Twitter, 160 plus new locations have been added to Trends. Countries like Belgium, Greece, Kenya, Norway, Poland, Portugal, and Ukraine are the countries that will access Trends for the first time and more than 130 new cities have been added to the countries that already witness Trends. For India, Twitter has added 21 new cities to its existing list of 6 cities. Twitter India confirmed the news by tweeting it yesterday.

The new change will help you to see the hot trending localized topics in your city. So if you want to change the trends from India and make it any of the cities listed by Twitter, then click on the ‘Change’ link located adjacent to your current trend on your Twitter home screen. On click you would get an option to select your city.

Apart from this there are a couple of Twitter apps that help you to follow exclusively all the trending topics worldwide including Indian cities too. What the Trend app, which we had reviewed earlier, is an interesting one but following trends on Twitter is easy until and unless you are a marketer. The latest effort from Twitter is another move in the direction towards being “The Global Town Square.” Of late Twitter has been working with many business houses to provide an exciting experience to Indian netizens. The recently concluded India Today Conclave saw a deeper integration with the highlight being the effective usage of Vine app. The ongoing IPL6 tie up has taken the integration one step forward. And not to forget Twitter’s proximity to the television houses of the country. Sony PIX recently premiered MIB 3 and became the first interactive movie to be shown in the Indian television history. Participants were requested to engage in a contest on Twitter while the movie was being aired. The same was repeated during the Nach Baliye finale, Miss India 2013 contest at Colours TV and the recently showcased ‘The Fight League’ at Star Sports India.
