Tutorial: Using Scripts in Google AdWords

Whether you’re interested in learning to write your own scripts and/or you are regularly finding nifty code off of the AdWords Scripts Forum, knowing where to actually place these snippets of code is the first step you need to figure out in using scripts.

Below is a brief, step-by-step tutorial on how to use add a script in Google AdWords.

Step 1: Finding “Bulk Operations”

Log into your Google AdWords account–or if you’re managing multiple accounts from your MCC, select a client’s account. Locate, on the left-hand side, “Bulk Operations” and click it.

Step 2: Finding “Create and Manage Scripts”

In the Bulk Operations screen, locate “Create and manage scripts” and click it.

Step 3: The Scripts Screen

This is where you can manage all your scripts. For now, select “Create script.”

Step 4: The Script Input Screen

You will now see the screen where you can enter your script’s content and choose to name it, preview, run, save, etc.

After saving or running your script, you can then choose to edit it, run it again, run the script on a schedule, etc.
