We’re much more interested in which bank brand is cashing in with social. To find out, we’ve put the two banks head-to-head in this week’s Social Media Face Off.

In order to compare the banks in social, we set up search streams for each brand in the uberVU platform and compared the results from the past two weeks to determine our winner.

Get your checkbooks ready. Let’s see which brand is banking in social.

Round One: Mentions

When it comes to the overall number of mentions, Bank of America wins with ease with 58,731 mentions, almost doubling the 30,136 mentions of Wells Fargo.

Round Two: Sentiment

In addition to the total number of mentions it’s also important to establish the overall sentiment of your brand. Are people talking negatively or positively about your brand? Both banks had fairly typically sentiment results for the financial industry, which tends to see low positivity scores. 16% of Bank of America’s mentions were positive and 19% of Wells Fargo’s mentions registered as positive. In a tough industry, Wells Fargo takes the win in sentiment.
