social media keynote speaker get out of your box
I get contacted at least several times a week with prospects looking to hire me for keynote speaking, general speaking and training opportunities. Many of them often ask me “what is your ONE THING?”
They are wanting to know what is that ONE thing I do. Many keynote speakers and trainers focus in on ONE thing. They either do Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, content marketing, branding or a million other things.
Yes, I do keynote speaking, training, coaching and consulting. However, I also run a full service social brand, digital marketing, conversion optimization agency. We help businesses of all sizes build and humanize their brands, empower and train their employees, integrate social media into the DNA of their business, build integrated online business platforms, develop and implement rockin’ content marketing strategies and plans, influencer marketing, event marketing and management and the list goes on.
My “One Thing” is Business…

So how do I answer the question… “what is your ONE thing?” It’s easy. My one thing is BUSINESS!
We help businesses achieve their business goals. We help our clients inspire and connect with their target audiences with a goal of helping their audience achieve their goals and objectives. We train, we empower and we help build the people who build the business. We build people and we build businesses.
Building people and businesses requires more than knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or a blog. We bring to the table 30+ combined years of corporate marketing, technology, sales and business experience just between me and my co-founder alone.
So why on earth would I put my “one thing” into a box of Facebook or LinkedIn to land a speaking gig? Why would I put myself into a box to win a few additional speaking gigs per year? Do I lose out on some opportunities because I refuse to be put in a box? Maybe so. Do I care? I bet you can guess the answer. It is a big fat NO.
When I speak, train and work with clients of any size, my work is customized to them, the audience and their goals and objectives. There is no one size or one box fits all when it comes to speaking, training, consulting or servicing clients. I don’t fit in a box so why should my services, my presentations or the value I offer those who benefit from them?
Are You Stuck in a Box?

So here is my question for you…
Are you putting yourself into a box? Maybe your scenario is not related to keynote speaking or training. It could be related to training, the size of businesses you serve, the services you offer.
You aren’t just a blogger, Facebook trainer, LinkedIn expert or mompreneur. You are a human being who has many skills. You have knowledge that is valuable and can help the right market who needs the information to help them solve problems, achieve and be more.
Chances are you do many things great, not just one. You likely have more than one thing to offer your community, clients and the larger ecosystem.
While I agree 100% the riches are in the niches, don’t dig your niche too deep that you lose sight of who you are and why you are doing what you do.
Get Out Of Your Box!
My message for you today is simple. Get out of your box. Do it now. Don’t wait.
Chances are you landed in that box because of a job title, comfort niche or a million other things that could have caused such.
I am not telling you to lose focus or to become everything to everyone. Focus is a requirement for success in both life and business. I am simply recommending you think bigger than the box you may be living in.
There is life out side of your box. Try it.
