Many of us go to our jobs five days a week, surround ourselves in projects and work and carry our emails on our phone everywhere we go. In a society where we never stop working, it is essential to find a job that you love and it’s even more important to stay in love with your job. After all, you know what they say; if you love what you do then you’ll never work a day in your life.

- Do you walk into your office each morning smiling, enjoying the company of your co-workers?

- When you come home, do you catch yourself talking about your job – with enthusiasm?
If you answered yes to these questions, congratulations, you’re lucky to wake up doing what you love each and every day!
If you didn’t answer yes, that’s ok. It’s easy to fall out of love with your job, but all you need is to find that spark again and we have some tips to help you do just that.
Don’t focus on the fact that it’s work; instead, focus on something you enjoy about each project you complete. There is a silver lining in everything, no matter how dull the subject may seem at first. Once you find it, the line between work and play will slowly disappear.
Find variability in your work. When you’re doing the same thing day in and day out, it can get pretty boring. Organize your day into segments so you are only working on one project for so long. If your allotted time isn’t enough, you can always come back to it later, but staring at the same thing for hours at a time will increase your frustration.
Along the same lines, try not to bring your work home with you. That needs to be your time to enjoy being with your family and friends. If you’re constantly working, you’ll be stressed and upset instead of enjoying your relaxation time.
This one may seem simple or overrated, but decorate your desk! Bring in pictures of your family and friends, and maybe even your beloved pet. Staring at pictures that make you smile instead of staring at a blank desk or wall can quickly improve your mood.
Remind yourself each morning why you chose the job and career path that you did. Just think of the defining moments that made you say, “this is where I’m meant to be.” Instead of making these memories distant and in the past, bring them to life each and every day. You can even create a list of all of the things you love about what you do and display it at your desk.
When the going gets tough and you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, keep these suggestions in mind. You chose your job for a reason and all it takes is one second to remind yourself why.
