Wong “Chawy” Xinglei has officially made the jump from League of Legends team Singapore Sentinels to Azubu Taipei Assassins (TPA).
According to an announcement on the Garena Taiwan website by Taipei Assassins and Taipei Snipers leader, Polo, TPA will be switching up their roster to accommodate a six-man strategy. Chawy will be taking up the AP role, but current AP carry, Chen “Morning” Kuan Ting, will not be replaced. Instead, Polo feels that both Chawy and Morning will be able to compensate for each others’ weaknesses, and that Chawy will be able to rotate positions with support “Jay” Li Chieh when the need arises.
Polo writes that the team believes Chawy will be able to bring chemistry as well as a positive competitive team spirit to Taipei Assassins.
Sister team Taipei Snipers (TPS) have also picked up a new addition. Xue “Mountain” Zhao-Hong, formerly of yoe Flash Wolves, will be taking up the jungler role in TPS. Polo wrote that it is the team’s hope for Mountain to grow into a “good” and “stable” jungler under former TPA jungler, Alex “Lilballz” Sung’s, guidance.
Polo also said that it is important for both TPA and TPS to keep their competitive standards high. He added that the Taipei teams needed to cultivate talents in Taiwan eSports, to develop them, and to also promote Taiwanese eSports, and ended his post by asking for fans’ support.
