If you thought Ford had an answer to the Camaro Z/28‘s impressive lap time…they might– but who knows? While it was rumored that the GT500 ran close to the same time as the Z/28, that time wasn’t anywhere near official by anyone’s standards. And according to SVTPerformance.com, we’re likely never going to know.
Talking to Ford’s global performance vehicle chief engineer Jamal Hameedi, the enthusiast site found out that Ford wasn’t interested in getting involved with Nurburgring lap times. Acknowledging the video that was posted a few weeks back of the GT500′s unofficial ‘Ring run (which you can see here), Hameedi said that there’s no way for Ford to accurately measure the performance.
So, will Ford actually release the GT500′s Nurburginrg lap time? Likely no. But what do you say — should Ford give us some official lap times? Or is the absence of an official pony car time just all a bunch of bull?
