If you don’t currently have a logo for your web site or blog, then you are already behind in the branding game.

Should all of your advertisers, revenue sources and content disappear tomorrow… what will you have?

Hopefully you have spent previous years building up your brand so people know who you are and are performing searches in Google to see what you are up to and looking for relevant content.

One of the best ways to do this is through the use of your own logo.

When I was creating my pet niche site at petfoodia.com, I wanted to make sure I had a great logo for the site.

Through a logo design case study I documented the process of creating a logo for my site and wanted to show others how easy and cheap it can be to have a logo created for your site.

Here’s how it all went down.

There are many places online to get logo design work done, but I prefer to use LogoNerds as they are very low-cost, yet high in quality.

After filling out the form on their site and giving them a good idea of what I’d like in a logo, they sent me the following draft designs.

After seeing the first set of designs, I was really happy with the logo of the cat and dog with the bone (top left).

The next step was to tweak the logo a bit more.

I had requested a few simple changes to the bone, cat and dog design and was then sent the following drafts.

I was liking the logo more and more and went with the design on the right.

Now it was time to bring the logo to life with some color.

Below you will see the final result from the design process.

As you can see, the process was fairly simple and probably took less than a week to complete.

Even better, the final cost was in the $50 range.

This just goes to show you that you don’t need to have a massively huge site or spend thousands of dollars to start building a brand of your own.
