Question

Any business owners who can help me with a few questions?

I set up interviews for 3 local business and none of them could make time for this week and the one still has not called me back.

If you would like to help I will grant whoever is most helpful with best answer.

1. What is your business and how did you get started?

Home design and money from family as well as own savings

2.When did you get started, what help did you have?

Started when I was 16 with my girlfriend and we received government granting for new businesses and several different designers.

3.How did the recession of 2008 affect your business?

Hard as no one purchased. What we had to do was target certain companies such as people purchasing new business blocks and design them for staff and management

4.What strategies seemed to work well?

Our key strategy was always make sure that we always saved most of the pay we received and downsize the property we rented. We saved money, continued to find business and then we advertised online and newspapers.

5.What, If anything, would you do differently next time and why?

I would probably be a bit more cash saving and ensure enough is saved to survive the next. It's not easy with high prices, but two jobs can keep us afloat for 6 months
