Do companies give rewards for reporting copyright infringement?
I know of a local high school band, who uses a corporate logo in their band art. This picture is used on shirts and other things they sell. If I were to report this to the company that owns the logo, is there a chance that I would get a reward?
Don't post spam. I'm not visiting your website. This isn't my first rodeo, so grow up.
The answer is no. You will not get a monetary reward.
The owner of the logo will have his attorneys contact the school with a cease order requiring the school band to stop using the logo and may sue the school band for monetary compensation. Sorry! Do-gooders seldom get money because the idea is that you will have the reward of knowing you did what you thought was right.
Monetary rewards are only put up if something or someone needs to be found. Even then, the recipient will only get paid if the information leads to the recovery of the item/person or an arrest/conviction.
