If you buy a pair of shoes that is made by a company that has an insurance policy that draws interest by investing in an index fund which includes an oil stock, does that make you the same hypocrite? Of course it does. Money follows a circular path. And how about if you spend your time online, which consumes fuel for the electricity (have you ever seen the air conditioning required to keep all the Internet equipment cool at the ISPs) and is on a computer made mostly from plastic parts (petroleum derived)? Each person can make a lot of improvements on their own.
