Why does Madonna preach "green", but owns stock in polluting companies destroying the Earth?

http://tinyurl.com/2ddsxz Madonna, who seems to be on top of all her many business endeavors, has actually invested about $2.7 million dollars in companies that are creating the destruction that Live Earth is trying to raise awareness about. She has invested in several companies named as the biggest corporate polluters in the world. http://tinyurl.com/2ddsxz

Most of those limousine liberals do the same thing. Why single out Madonna?

    • If you buy a pair of shoes that is made by a company that has an insurance policy that draws interest by investing in an index fund which includes an oil stock, does that make you the same hypocrite? Of course it does. Money follows a circular path. And how about if you spend your time online, which consumes fuel for the electricity (have you ever seen the air conditioning required to keep all the Internet equipment cool at the ISPs) and is on a computer made mostly from plastic parts (petroleum derived)? Each person can make a lot of improvements on their own.

    • like a lot of people, she talks the talk, but can't walk the walk. and she probably has an investment company that makes her decisions for her. she doesn't know where her money is going.

    • Like many other celebrities she gains a lot of publicity for her "save the planet" drive while in reality these people have larger carbon footprints than almost anyone else. Even adverse publicity criticising her keeps her in the public eye and that's what she loves.
