YouTube’s New Audience Analyzer Feature :: Magnet Minute (video)

    This week on the Magnet Minute, Amy talks about a new YouTube feature for channels with large audiences, meant to help creators better engage with their most dedicated viewers.

    If you go to and opt in (with a channel of at least 5,000 subscribers), you will find a list of your top fans according to how much they engage with your content via likes, favorites, commenting, and subscriber status.

    Not only can you sort them by true dedication-level, if you will, but you can sort the list according to the most engaged viewers with the largest YouTube audiences. This way you can get an idea of who the influencers are, distinguishing the ones that are also into your content.

    A really great way to take advantage of this feature would be to spotlight those top fans every week or month, so that you can get the rest of your audience excited about engaging with your channel. This provides a chance for them to be publicly appreciated and have the word spread about their online presence by your brand.

    This feature is also heavily integrated within Google Plus (but not in the normally pushy way that users on YouTube usually feel from Google). You’re actually seeing these fans in connection with their Google Plus accounts, likewise in connection with their YouTube channel. A great tip from Lamarr Wilson, co-host of This Week in YouTube on, is that you can actually add all those top users to a Google Plus circle and take advantage of that community to really rally their support by providing exclusive content, asking their opinion on future ideas, or doing anything else that will make them feel special for being an advocate for you.

    This feature offers a great way to get connected with your fans and drive those relationships even further, so they’ll help you spread love for your content.
