Twitter began rolling out a dramatically revamped design back in November, and according to Mashable, is testing a new profile design.

Assistant features editor at Mashable Matt Petronzio spotted the big change today (pictured above), which is heavily influenced by Facebook’s Timeline.

The header photo now spans across the entire width of the page, and the profile photo has increased in size and moved to the far left.

The “Who to follow” and “Trends” columns are now positioned directly below the profile bio, and info such as total tweets, favorites and followers are directly below the header photo.

Tweets are now organized in differently sized columns, with photos or videos standing out.

Twitter experiments with new features all the time, and here’s what its official blog has to say:

“We also experiment with features that may never be released to everyone who uses Twitter. Those experiments are perhaps even more valuable because they help us decide what not to do –– which is important as we work to keep Twitter simple while improving the user experience.”

Twitter doesn’t say if the new profile design will make its way to more users, and we’d like to hear what you think about it.
