Derrick Coleman Responds To Little Girls Fan Letter [Photo]
Seahawks running back Derrick Coleman responded to a little girl’s fan letter on Twitter Wednesday, proving that no matter how popular you are, it’s always in your best interest to be a good role model. Coleman is the first legally deaf offensive player in the NFL, and his story was recently featured in an ad for Duracell batteries.
The little girl’s dad tweeted the photo to the Seahawks on Tuesday, saying, “you’ve inspired my little girls in a way I never could. THANK YOU!”
In the handwritten letter, the girl calls Coleman her “insperation.” See, she, like him, is deaf and has to “where two hearing aids.” She also love sports and has an identical twin, who also “where’s one hearing aid too!”

The girl’s adorable letter went viral and got the attention of Derrick Coleman, who joined Twitter over the weekend. While he might be busy preparing for the upcoming Super Bowl against the Broncos, Coleman proved his ability to inspire others by tweeting back his own handwritten letter to the young girl’s father. He wrote: “Thanks for the letter. Really was great hearing from a fan who I have so much in common with. I appreciate you rooting for the Seahawks and me and hope you continue to do so when we play in the Superbowl!!! “I want you to know that I always try my best in everything I do and have faith in you & your twin sister too. Even though we wear hearing aids, we can still accomplish our goals & dreams! If you or your family ever in Seattle, I hope we can all get together & play some sports or games!”

We’re 100 percent sure the 9-year-old twins, named Erin and Riley Kovalcik, who live in Roxbury, New Jersey. Komo News got in touch with them, as well as Coleman, who added that Riley’s letter and story are an inspiration. He added, “It’s great to know that she’s just sending a letter saying thanks, saying she had faith in me.”
The girls hope to meet Derrick Coleman in person when the Seahawks travel to New Jersey for the Super Bowl.
