Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Details: Release Date, Price, Specs, Camera, Design And More

Back in September 2013, Samsung launched its third smartphone from the successful Note series, the Galaxy note 3. Like its predecessors, the Note 3 received rave reviews and went on to sell very well. Now, the smartphone is almost a year old and Samsung has confirmed that it will be launching the Galaxy Note 4 on 3 September this year.

Here is everything that we know about the smartphone so far.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Design

Experts have been expecting Samsung to stop making plastic flagship smartphones for a long time now, but the South Korean electronics giant isn't planning to do so anytime soon.

While some reports indicate that it will ship in two versions, one made of plastic and the other packing a metal chassis, others say that Samsung isn't going to move away from its plasticy ways anytime soon.

However, it goes without saying that Samsung will make the Note 4 dust and water proof.

Samsung Galaxy Note Display

Until now, Samsung has been serving up larger and larger displays with each smartphone from the Note line up.

The original Note had a 5.3in display, the Note 2 sported a 5.5in display and the Note 3 housed a 5.7in display.

Going by this pattern, the Note 4 is expected to house a 5.9in display. However, alleged benchmarks from the phone indicate that it will house only a 5.7in diaply.

Moving on to the kind of display, Samsung's own website has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 4 will have a 2560 x 1440 QHD screen, allowing it to compete with the eye-wateringly clear LG G3 dispaly.

Reports also indicate that the company is working on a curved OLED version of Note 4, which is not aimed for the mass markets.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Performance

Previously, Samsung's VP of marketing has spoken about how the company is working on a 64-bit technology for their future phones. Given that the Smasung Galaxy S5 didn't receive the technology, the Galaxy Note 4 is expected to receive it.

Reports indicate that while the European version of the Note 4 will house a new Exynos 5433 chip, markets like North America, Korea and China will receive a model with the Snapdragon 805 processor.

Samsung has also been known to make the leaps ahead with RAM through their Note series. Since the Note 3 got a solid upgrade to 3GB of RAM, we expect the Note 4 to house at least 4GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Camera

Reports from ET News claim that Samsung is developing a 20MP sensor that is slated for a Q3 release. Since its launch timing coincides with the Galaxy Note 4, we believe that Samsung's new phbalet will use this sensor.

However, more conservative rumours, which include reports from SamMobile and Antutu benchmark, believe that a 16MP snapper will be present on the smartphone.

As for the front camera, we expect nothing short of a 5MP sensor, since selfies have become quite the modern day rage among smartphone users.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Software

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to run the latest version of Android KitKat with a layer of Samsung's TouchWiz interface on top.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Features

With wireless charging becoming more and more common among smartphones, Samsung's Note 4 is bound to house the feature. Apart from that, we expect a fingerprint scanner, various improvements to the S Pen, which is expected to get extremely accurate with its Note 4 iteration.

Rumours also point that Samsung might take things to the next level with a Retina scanner on the Note 4. A tweet from the company indicated that it was working on eye scanning tech in the near future.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Price

Currently, there's no information on the pricing. However, since this is a premium smartphone, we expect it to be around £550 /$800.
