Washington, Sept. 19 (ANI): Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has admitted that nothing affected the site more than the NSA revelations, which has lowered the perception of trust amongst its users.
Although, the social media giant has been criticized over privacy issues earlier as well, but Zuckerberg noted that the trust metrics for Facebook went down after the NSA controversy.
The NSA revelations indicated that many of the major tech giants allegedly participated in the US surveillance programmes by furnishing users' web data to the secret agencies for government consumption.
According to Mashable, other sites like Yahoo, Microsoft and Google are also pushing for government to allow them publishing transparency reports about the alleged NSA snoop-data requests.
Zuckerberg said that the fading trust of Facebook users is the reason why the company is pushing for more transparency. (ANI)
