With 38 years old, David Beckham is currently a stay at home dad. Well, kind of. The British legend has retired from football, after a profitable and long career that allowed him to earn £175 million, while breaking numerous records. This midfielder, considered the richest footballer in the world, played until the end of the season 2012/2013, saying goodbye to football at the French club Paris Saint-Germain.
But let’s go back in time, to 1999! At the time, David Beckham, now a real family man, lived one of his best years as a professional. He won four titles with Manchester United: the Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League and the ancient European Cup/South America, now called World Cup FIFA Club. And like in so many other moments, he was decisive in these competitions, but don’t worry about making the math, because all these numbers and stats are part of our new infographic “Lucky Number 7”. This year of 1999 was also when Beckham was considered the second best footballer in the world, a situation that was repeated later, in 2001.
After all these years – more than 25 of them spent in the football field kicking the ball –, men will probably know him from the sports world and women from advertising, especially the kind of advert where he appears in his knickers (the time when he modeled for Emporio Armany is a great example…).
Not even the galactic stars like Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo can overcome his achievements and fortune! And he’s not only a millionaire, he’s also a caring man, giving thousands of pounds to charity institutions and supporting several initiatives. These are just some of the things a true fan must know about David Beckham. So, if there’s new data here about your favorite football player, check our infographic and learn everything about the everlasting ‘number 7’.
