Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition Channels First Civilian Jeeps

Jeep has been building the Wrangler as fast as people have been buying them. The venerable 4×4 has been flying out of dealerships, and to keep the market for the beloved SUV, Jeep continues to roll out special edition Wranglers. The latest is the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition, and it’s one mean looking Jeep.

Based on the standard Wrangler Sport, the Willys Wheeler Edition pays homage to the earliest civilian Jeeps, otherwise known as “CJ.” The first Willys-Overland CJ-2A hit the American streets in 1945, after the military Willys had served American soldiers in Europe well.

This special edition takes the Sport trim, and adds a Dana 44 rear axle, a Trac-Loc Limited-Slip rear differential, BF Goodrich KM Mud-Terrain Tires and rock sliders. The package also adds a new Trail Rated kit, containing a new D-ring, tow strap and gloves– all neatly contained in a bag with Jeep branding on the side.

The Willys Wheeler Edition is set apart visually by a gloss black grille, unique black wheels, and special “Willys” badging on the sides of the hood. The Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition costs $25,795 for the two-door model and $29,595. It will go on sale early next year.
