I think there would be very few people who would say no for an outing in Goa. To build the same brand on social media, graduates from the Goa Institute of Management (GIM), one of the state’s top business schools has launched Goa Tourism Department Facebook page, reports IANS for Times Of India, Goa.
The Facebook page that was launched earlier this month has already got a fan following of more than 3K. The page that depicts the warmth and relaxing ambiance, has also launched a BID & WIN Facebook app exclusively for the fans. The app that takes you to a Google form is a simple bid and win concept. The app shows you destinations that a fan needs to bid and if your bid is the lowest and the most unique then you win a free stay at the said location. The app also provides the time left for the bidding process and all the bidding related details are being captured on the Google form. The app is an interesting one but misses on the Terms & Condition doc that is a must for Facebook contests and needs to be fine tuned a bit.
The content that is being shared on the page is exciting and aligned to the objective. The posts talk about places to visit in Goa, the festivities and the current happenings going in Goa. In addition to this, the page is also promoting the BID & WIN contest. The entire initiative has been developed by Shawn Menezes, Swapnil Chodankar, Floyd Tavares and Neha Arora – members of GIM’s marketing club.
Definitely this is an amazing move not only to build brand Goa on social media but also launch an interesting concept like Bid to Win. Previously we have seen states like Manipur, Chhattisgarh jumping on social media to create a presence and connect with the fans on social media. But the Goa Tourism page does stand out on the initiative and concept. Hopefully the good work is carried on further.
