By Owen Linderholm | Small Business

We held a live twitter chat today on recognition, publicity and PR for small business with Jonathan Hirshon. Called 'The Guru of Silicon Valley' by BusinessWeek, Jonathan is the principal of Horizon Communications, one of Silicon Valley's premier high-tech PR agencies.

He has not only architected some of the most successful launches and publicity campaigns in Silicon Valley history – he has even been involved in product engineering for his clients. Through this unique combination of technical and evangelist expertise, Horizon was awarded Agency of Record status at Apple and a number of Fortune 500 companies, as well as a host of startups.

He has been profiled in BusinessWeek (twice), as well as The New York Times, RJ Magazine, and the San Jose Mercury News - he has also contributed to several tech news outlets as a writer. Jonathan has been invited to speak at a number of prestigious venues, most recently to address members of the Reuters Foundation’s Digital Vision Program at Stanford University.

He is a past member of SMPTE (the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) and a 20-year member of the IEEE (the
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). On the personal front, Jonathan is an acclaimed haiku poet - see his Amazon ebook - as well as a gourmet chef who has created hundreds of recipes.
