Apple iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c Total Cost of Ownership Across the 4 Major Carriers [Infographic]

With the United States launch of the new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c on September 20th, the cell phone experts at MyRatePlan.com, an authority cell phone plan comparison site, have broken down the total cost of ownership for each new iPhone across the 4 major US cell carriers. The comparison matrix factors in 24 months of unlimited talk & text, and also includes data limits for each carrier across comparable plans. Sprint and T-Mobile offer unlimited data options while Verizon Wireless and AT&T do not. The total cost of ownership was calculated over a typical 2-year period.

The infographic below takes the uncertainty out of determining how much the new iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c will cost a consumer depending on which carrier the consumer uses over a 2-year period. The infographic assumes a base price for the 16GB version of both the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s. In addition, the T-Mobile rate structure is different than the other carriers.

The plans chosen to be compared were believed to be the 4 most comparable plans across each of the major U.S. carriers. Those plans were:

Sprint – Unlimited My Way

AT&T – Mobile Share 4GB

Verizon – Share Everything 4GB

T-Mobile – Simple Choice
