How accurate is the Where's My Refund IRS site?

When I checked the IRS site it told me that my refund would be coming about a week before the original date I was given on Turbo tax. Does any one have experience on how accurate the Where's My Refund irs site is? The site also told me my tax refund could come as long as 5 days after the estimated date i was given. Which would be a lot closer to the date turbo tax gave me when i first filed. I did my taxes online and chose to direct deposit it. Wondering if the bank i use matters in how quick i get it. Just wondering if any body who used the site found it was correct or not. Thanks

The date that the WMR is giving you is the date that it SHOULD be in your account. Mine is supposed to be in on the 25th. With my bank by the time I wake up on the 25th the money will be in my account and available as long as the IRS puts it there. Some banks wont release funds from friday until monday or even tuesday.

    • within 3 weeks of actuality my past experience has always been - refund came 2nd Friday after I e-filed Turbo tax isn't going to know anything - it was probably a rough estimate programmed into the software back in December
