Filed Injured Spouse form, been 8 weeks, should I go to the local IRS office? Can't get through by phone.
The local office can't help you because the case is out of its jurisdiction.

I justed filed an Injured Spouse form also. I did it at our local IRS office. I was told by the IRS worker it will take MORE then 12 weeks to process the form. They have many people ahead of you and must process it on a first come first serve basis. I was also told if it takes longer then 12 weeks they will owe you interest on your refund. If they took your refund you will NOT receive a rebate check either! That is the reason I am claiming the injured spouse form. If you get your half of the refund then you will receive half of the rebate check.

It takes 8 - 11 weeks to process an injured spouse claim. If you haven't received a direct deposit by the 11th week or a check by the 14th week, call 1-800-829-0922 and inquire.

Injured spouse forms take up to 12 weeks, and sometimes more, to process, so it probably just isn't done yet.
