Question

Can You Live in A Camper On Your Own Land??

If I buy 15 acres of land in the middle of nowhere (Coos County, New Hampshire), can I simply pull an RV onto my land and live there?

Can the town tell me what to do, or can I do whatever I want with my own land, assuming it's far enough away from the road that it can't be seen?

I'm not sure, but my guess would be it depends on how the land is zoned. Assuming it is zoned residential, and as you say it can't be seen, and assuming you meet all codes about sewer, etc. - I don't think there would be a problem. You might need to install a permanent septic field, or prove you are going to a dump station.

You have to still obtain zoning and permits, as I would assume you need a well and a septic tank.

But, no, you can not do whatever you like with land, you have to obey the local codes and laws.

Call up your city clerk and ask.....you also might want a copy of the city ordinances of what you can and can not do.
