When should PowerPoint not be used in selling?

In other words, are there any times when the use of PowerPoint could actually be detrimental to communication effectiveness?

In any face to face negotiation or where discussion or argument is key. Power point works well if there is particular information to be given to a group of people, but can turn a lot of people off especially if the slides are not intelligently created to provide information rather than platitudes. Would you ask someone to marry you or go on a date using a power point presentation? Would you want your doctor to give you a power point presentation if he was diagnosing you with cancer? Would you buy a car from a salesman who took you aside for a power point presentation?
