Do you really need a marketing degree to obtain marketing knowledge and skills?

As other have pointed out, the clear answer is NO. But, going that route will put you in sort of a catch 22 situation. How do you get the skills without the degree? The best place to get good skills is a quality company that does a lot of marketing. Those jobs are not easy to get and nearly impossible without a degree. You can take the "work your way up the ranks" approach but that can take many years and your background will always be in question by those that don't know you.

No, but a collage degree will get you 10 years of experience in 4 years. And, about an extra $150,000 per year more income.
