I sent my tax return to the irs and it says it been accepted by tax act?

and the irs says, We have received your tax return and it is being processed. Unless we find mistakes or you owe other taxes, you should receive your refund by February 23, 2010. But tax act says

Federal Return Status:

Federal Return Acceptance Information:
This federal electronic return was accepted by the Internal Revenue Service(IRS) on 2/2/2010. The Declaration Control Number(DCN) for this federal electronic return is shown below.

Declaration Control Number (DCN): 00-320163-44416-0

Submission ID (RSN): 1171100033102815

Based upon the acceptance date of this Federal electronic return, the Federal refund should be transferred to the appropriate bank on 2/12/2010 (allow 48-72 additional hours for transfer to the appropriate account.)

Will I get it on the 12th then? Also why does it say its been accepted but its still being processed? My sister did her tax return the same day as me and she just got her tax return today. What is up with that?
I appreciate all of your responses. I called the IRS at 1-800-829-0922 and actually spoke to a person and they said that because I filed electronically it takes up to 3 weeks to process and that if its not in the bank by the 25th to call them back. I really dont think these people know what they're talking about. First you can't get ahold of them on any of their numbers listed on their website, and now I have to wait until the 25th??? They said that it was being processed, what is taking so long? This is so frustrating!

Alright, first I will give you info of what happened to mine. I had filed on the 2nd, it was accepted by the IRS the same day. At my account with Turbo Tax which had told me it was accepted, it gave me an estimated date I would recieve it, which was the 12th. they get this from the IRS which the IRS does this to give estimates of about when someone will get their return per their acceptance date.

When it finally showed up at the IRS website for "Where's My Refund," it told me I should recieve my return "BY" Feb. 16th (Tues,) so long as no errors are found etc as it was still processing. Last night it was still telling me this. Now, I went back today and it is telling me: "Refund Status Results

Your tax refund is scheduled to be direct deposited on February 12, 2010. If your refund is not credited to your account by February 17, 2010, check with your bank to find out if it has been received. Please wait until February 17, 2010 before you contact us again because we are unable to take any action until then. "

Now this means that it has been processed and basically they are just waiting for Friday to have it sent out to be deposited in my account. When the IRS accepts your return, it just means they are accepting the Social Security #'s on it, but they haven't officially gone through it to check for possible mistakes. In other words, they received the return, they just haven't verified everything is correct yet.

Usually you will get a notice similar to what I have gotten on Tues at midnight if you are going to get your return shortly.

Plan on it being there the 12th. I have not had any of my clients not get their refund when I told them. The IRS just likes to give themselves some leeway.

Accepted just means they acknowledge the return. It has nothing to do with approving it. If they dd it then the bank can still take a couple of days to process.

If the IRS website Where's my refund sayd 2/25 then expect it the Friday before. If the IRS agent said 2/25 then expect it the Friday before. Taxact and all those other online tax companies are only giving you the date from the IRS anticipated refund schedule, it is not etched in stone.
