Adding Images to Your Site Navigation

Adding Images to Your Site Navigation image Site navigationAdding Images to Your Site NavigationEveryone loves images. Images help people navigate your site and provide a good experience for your users. So why not add images to your site’s navigation?

There are a couple of different ways to add images to the navigation bar, but I want to show you the easiest way to make this happen — the Nav Menu Images plugin.

Download and install this plugin and then venture over to your WordPress menus.

This is so simple and brilliant I love it. Go to the menu where you want to add your images and expand the menu item box. After you install the Nav Menu Image plugin, you will see a new prompt that reads ‘Upload menu item image.’ Upload or select the image you want to display in the nav and save the menu. That’s it.

Now, before you go crazy doing this I want to say, this is one way and probably the simplest way to put images in your menu, but if you’re comfortable editing the CSS, by all means do so. Like any images, make sure they are sized properly in both dimension and file size. (You don’t want this aesthetic upgrade to bog down your site’s speed.)

Check it out, give it a try and pimp out your WordPress site’s navigation.
