Make sure you keep growing your list of email addresses. Tips for capturing new addresses include adding an opt-in form to your website, personal email signature and Facebook page. And once you hook ‘em, make sure to send a nice welcome email to get things off to a good start.

Readers want to know what you’re going to talk about before they start to listen. Our mates at Business Matters Magazine say, “People care about themselves, not your company. To gain (and keep) their attention you need to offer them something of value. This could be news, tips, special offers, coupons, exclusive previews – something special. When getting people to opt-in, explain clearly what benefits you’re offering and then continually review your emails to make sure that you’re making good on this promise.”

The coolest thing about most email marketing services is how easy they make it to test and measure everything you do. Keep playing with the times you send something, the words in your subject line or even content in your email until you find out what works best. And then, measure the results to find out what works best.
