visa giftcard question. need help fasttttttttttttttt?
ok so heres the deal. ive been seeing this girl for 2 years now but ive only recently told my parents (really not that close to them). her birthday is coming up again and i really want to get her this nice ring from zales (heres the link if your curious www ... i would have bought a nicer one but im pretty tight on cash. but anyway since my parents think that ive only been seeing her for a few months, they probally wont let me spend $300 on a gift for her. so i was just wondering if i would be able to go to a store (jc pennys, macys, or something of that sort) and get a visa giftcard with my cash and then use the card online. her birthday is in less then 2 months and the website says they need 4-6 weeks for delivery so im really cutting it close right now. thanks for any help its really appreciated =)

You could do that im not sure if a department store will have the visa gift cards but you could always go to zales and purchase a gift card in the store or just see if they have the ring in the store and pay cash for it.

If you purchase one from Wal-Mart you can use it immediately.

How sweet of you :). I have used a Visa gift card from US Bank online before. I went to US Bank, gave them the money for the gift card balance plus a small fee (like $3.95 or something), and was able to use the card after I registered it online later that day. The registration process basically just added a name and billing address to the card so I could use it on websites that asked for your billing address. I wouldn't trust getting a card unless the magnetic strip and any important numbers are blocked with packaging until after you open it. It is way too easy to scan a card with a portable magnetic strip scanner and then reprogram your own card at home with that data, just waiting until someone buys and loads that card so you'll have access to their money. I would only buy a gift card from a place where they are protected. When shopping for a Visa Gift Card, read the card to make sure you can use it online. I can't remember the brand that I purchased, but, like I said, I bought it from US Bank.

You can buy a visa gift card from Walmart or Rite Aid, but there is a limit usually about $100.00 you would need to buy 3. I'm not sure if the zales site will allow you to make your purchase with 3 cards. I would go to www ... and purchase a prepaid credit card that you can reload at anytime.
