Question

Can companies that have mandatory overtime make their employees work on sunday?

I know people who work at a warehouse and they often work mandatory saturdays. Now they are in a busy time and the company is making them work on sunday as well as saturday. Someone told me that they couldn't do that due to religious reasons(a person could claim that due to their beliefs and with the separation of church and state that they can refuse to work that day). Thanks.

No, they can't make you work on sundays if you say you're attending church services and it is your belief. My sister ran into the same situation. However, supervisors don't like to hear that.

Yes they CAN do it, BUT if you claim religious reasons, then they MUST let you have it off. Not everyone is religious, and people DO work on Sundays.
