Is it a good idea to consolidate credit cards, what about the fee?

Usually, the best idea is to keep only a few active credit cards in the first place, but if you start getting into a much and myre of "too many bills, too often, too fast", then yes, it can be a good idea to turn all those varying bills into one bill a month. It can help for weekly budgeting and planning around other important payments. More often than not, the fee incurred by consolidating is less than the cost of making a payment late because you're overwhelmed by writing checks or paying too many lenders too often.
