Question
How can you check the information stated on your credit report.?
We just got a credit report back listing, Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. They are exactly the same in all of them. However, they are very innaccurate because I know my credit history. How can I check them? Thanks for your help. Here is one example of what was on our credit report - they state there were 38 serious delinquency and public record or collection filed. Not a chance! My husband and I have the exact - Iiterally exact factors in each of our credit reports. They are side by side. However, our scores are not the same. In one, my score is 723 his is 694 but the factors are exactly the same - word for word. I want to know if when I contact them if I can find out exactly where they got their information from. Something is not right with this. Could this form be filled out from anyone other than the consumer reporting agency? Also, does anyone have any idea of who I could contact who is familiar with this. Thanks!

For starters, where did you get this report that includes all three credit bureaus? Did you get this from a third party monitoring service that offers 3 in 1 reports? Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian are three separate companies and each has a separate credit report. You can get a free annual credit report online from each of the credit bureaus thru AnnualCreditReport.com. Reports are free, scores are not. The credit bureaus collect data from your creditors. If the individual items are incorrect, you should dispute it with the credit bureau. As to your score issues, I don't even know where to begin. If you got that score from a third party service, those scores are not FICO but Fakko scores and totally worthless. The Equifax site uses FICO and you can get FICO scores for Equifax and TransUnion at MyFico.com. Consumers can no longer get FICO scores for Experian. By the way, if there were 38 derogatory items on your credit report, you scores would not be anywhere near 700.

You already did "check" the information by looking at the report! I think you might want to use a better word to describe what you are asking.

You can write a letter to each of the credit agencies disputing the information. They have to include your comments in your reports.

Dispute any accounts that are not yours. For any accounts that are yours, compare the information shown to the bills that you have received from the creditor.
