Question

How much should I charge?

I am creating a website design company and I am trying to figure out how much to charge. (very good websites, flash, database, etc) I don't want to charge up front, I would rather charge per month (I am also hosting them on my server) there are 3 of us in the business so remember livable wage. I was thinking maybe $60 per month, do you think thats to high/low? would you pay it?

I think you should break down your pricing into two segments. 1) a fee for designing and implementing the web site and 2) a modest monthly charge for hosting the web site. I think you should change pricing model to either collecting for the design services up front and going with a monthly fee of less than $20.00 or adopt the same model the cell phone carriers do, that is, have your customer sign a two year contract with no escape clause and charge enough each month to cover your design charges as well as your monthly fees.
