Most prepaid cards are easily available to teenagers. You must, however, understand that there are several charges involved. Make sure you know what you're getting into.

Go to the nearest bank that shows VISA on their window, and go in with 500.00 and you'll walk out with a card worth 485.00 - you can use just like credit card - but each purchase is checked by the computer.

Of course, it is prepaid. Spending is limited to the amount of money you have on the card.

First, you'll have to purchase one (there is usually a fee). Give the vendor the amount you want on the card plus the required fee. Usually, the vendor will activate the card at the time of purchase. If not, simply follow the instructions on how to get it activated. Once you buy the card and activate it, write your signature on the stripe on the back of the card. Only the person whose signature is on the card is allowed to use it. It is also recommended to register your card- for your protection (instructions on how to register will be given to you). All that's left is to use the card anywhere that accepts VISA. You'd also have to keep track of your balance to be sure that the card can cover a purchase. Yes, a teen can have and use one..... One final thing..... Some cards require that it be all used up within one year of purchase. After the one year, they will actually take money from the card if the balance isn't zero.

Yes, they are just like gift cards that work anywhere that Visa is taken. they are available at most grocery and drug stores. The catch is that you end up paying more than face value. A $50 card will cost you something like $53 to buy.
