How old to I have to be to get a store credit card, like Kohl's, Gap, or Old Navy?
I was at the gap in Chicago and the lady offered me a gap credit card, but I'm seventeen and she didn't know if I had to be 18, so obviously i didn't try to apply for that card. I figure i would have to be 18 like for getting any other credit card but i really dont know.

You have to be 18. But if you had tried to apply for it, nothing bad would have happened. The cashier would have been flagged when he/she entered your birthdate into the computer and it would say 'the applicant does not meet the age requirement'. Therefore your application could not be processed.

you are right. you have to be 18 to have any credit card Both you and the Gap employee would have been in trouble if you accepted the offer cuz they arent supposed to do that to minors.
