How do I get the homebuyer credit for 2008?

I bought a house in june last year but I did not take the credit for buying a house and first time homeowner can I still claim it?

That was the $7500 first time homebuyer credit...which must be repaid over time. Yes, you can either amend this years taxes or add it in on next years taxes.

you do not get the 8000 credit because you settled in june 2007. you get 7,500, which has to be repaid.
