Credit card help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

This may be a stupid question and I am sorry but Can a Visa Debit card be used as a Credit card as well. I want to rent a car but need a credit card to do it. Can a Visa Debit card do the trick with the rental place using it as a credit card? Thanks!!!

yes it can be done but the car rental agency will put a hold of about 200 to 300 dollars on the card (until You return the car) which means You will have that much in your bank account and if you have any check outstanding -and they come in during that time those checks will bounce and you will have to pay overdraft /bounce check fees and you will not be able to use the debit card for ANYTHING else as the account will be frozen

We always have problems renting a car w/ our Debit. They want credit and your whole itinerary and hold your credit on the account. Use a Visa if you've got one. It's happened to us in several cities already as of late this is how they do things.
