Whats the fastest way to get the best auto insurance rates?

Im a 40 year old guy that has a great driving record all my life with only one ticket (15 years ago). I'm looking to get a new policy from a new car insurance company. I keep hearing from friends about all the different big companies that offer great rates and coverage like Geico , the general and so forth. I hate talking on the phone because usually they will stick you with some pushy sales person who has a quota to fill. can I get some help anyone.
