Question
Whats the best prepaid card out there?
I need a prepaid credit card, to create a paypal account. I was looking into the Rush Card and the Green dot, The Rush card has a higher activation fee, but it doesn't charge a monthly fee, and green dot does. Any other pluses and minuses? Or any other better cards out there? Thanks :)

I hear good things all the time about Green dot, like the ease of reloading it. However, I had Walmart's prepaid card for 3mo and loved it. Low fees, easy reload, and easy to use. If Walmart is close and your thing, then their card is for you. You can browse the prepaid cards at www.creditcards.com. If you can, I'd actually suggest getting a checking account. Zero fees! Good luck.

I would avoid those pesky transaction fees and get yourself a debit card through a bank (with a checking or savings account - used to be only with checking but not anymore). Those transaction fees with the prepaid cards can really add up - no annual fee for a bank issued debit card! Most banks don't even charge for a debit card - I've only had one bank charge me for the initial card and it was a one time fee of $10.

First premier bank gave me one at 9%. You should pay it off every month if you want good credit.

green dot is accepted everywhere and no problem. some of the others take days to load and activate to make payments. But the best one is with your local bank and attached to a checking account, no fees. Also it will be Vias or MC brand. YOu do know that with a prepaid you get lots of hidden fees. For example buy a coffee for $1.25 and there is usually a .50 cent charge for teh use of the card. They really know how to whack you on hidden costs. Keep it in mind and good luck

Have you considered BMO's prepaid travel card. It doesn't charge any activation fee and there is no maintenance fee either. Take a look at tracenotes.com for prepaid card alternatives in Canada and the US.
