Question

if i buy a dress and it rips that very night, is it legal to demand a refund.....more details please help?

So, this past Friday night, October 30th, I bought a grey dress at Forever 21. I tried it on and it was alright and I needed it for a party of my friend's that night. Here it is: www ... Anyways, I wear the dress that night, and after some dancing and sitting down and whatnot, the dress begins to rip, and the rips just get worse and worse to the point where it's basically a shirt on me. The dress is basically in three different pieces now. I returned to the store, complained, told them it ripped the same night I got it, and all the co-manager could say is that if it was a tiny snag he could make an exception but this was too much, and according to the receipt, you cannot return things that have no tags or are torn. There are other conditions, but these two are the ones that concern me. Should this be legal, IS it even legal? I mean that is TOTALLY unjust. How should I have known the thing would rip, be such poor quality? Even for their decent prices, that is unacceptable. Is there any way I can get a refund?

First of all, cheap clothes from Forever 21 were certainly not meant to last forever. (Although they are quite cute) You should contact the store manager and calmly explain the situation and let them know that you love their clothes, are a longtime customer, and that you are sure it was a manufacturer defect, but you are just really disappointed. I would then request a refund and if you are refused, simply request the district manager's contact info. District managers almost always accommodate reasonable customer requests and it is unlikely that you will have to go any further with your issue. Best of luck!
