How to sell avon effectively?

I have a number of questions. I've signed up to sell avon because I just recently lost my job. I know it costs ten dollars to register. But how much is the percentage of money you get to keep? I heard it was 40%. I tried to look it up on the avon site but couldn't find it. And does anyone have tips on how to build up my clientele? Cuz everyone knows the more customers you have, the more sales you will make. I plan on posting up fliers at businesses and in my neighborhood. Is it illegal to put fliers in people's mailboxes? I think it is. What if I put the flier down beside the flag so it might not fly away with the wind? Any other suggestions?

I sold Avon many, many years ago, and the percentage then was 40%. I see that some things never change. When I sold, each representative had her own territory, usually her neighborhood and surrounding areas. Now, you can sell everywhere. Advertise. Tell your friends, relatives, neighbors, former co-workers that you're now selling Avon, and you would like them to be your customers. It may take time to build up a clientele. I'm not sure about fliers on the mailboxes, but you can also post ads in some public places, like drug stores, grocery stores, coffee shops, etc., and if you have a website, you can advertise on line. Avon products actually sell themselves. They are a wonderful line. Back when I sold, all they had were cosmetics, but now the company has branched out with jewelry, clothes, toys, household items, etc. You shouldn't have too much trouble as far as promoting the products. Give away a "free gift" with it like Celia did in the show Weeds. lol! Yes, it is illegal to open a person's mailbox. It's a felony, actually. I would not touch any part of anyone's mailbox. Put it in the door of the house.

Just post them through their letter box. Thats what they do here. Then if they get stuff from avon their friends will ask them where they got that from and they will say you then them friends will start ordering from you and so on..

if you have friends that work you can give them extra catalogs to take with them at work, you can also set up your own web page, where ppl can also order from you, although the commission isnt as much. u can also order products and have avon party, ask each person to bring a dish, those are fun. you can also order product and sell it at flea markets etc.........

Simply talk about it. Everywhere you go and to anyone you meet and know. Let them know what you do and how it benefits them through simple small talk. For example if you go to a restaurant tell the waitress that you sell a certain color of lipstick that would look really good on her and show her. I myself work for a company named Organo Gold you earn the difference between your selling price and wholesale price. Also depending on what level you are you get 5% back everytime you reorder. You get paid for almost everything you do. You should check it out and see if you are interested.
