Are there any housing grants in the state of Kentucky for new home owners?

We bought a house that is a short sale and it needs renovations...where could we find low interest/no interest loans (or even better - grants) for remodeling? Is there such a thing?

Look on the FHA or HUD websites, or if your State has such a program it would be on the State's website. You never know - some localities do have the money to encourage home ownership and renovations.

I hope not. why would the tax payers want to help you renovate your home?

I know of none. You should have used FHA 203K program when you bought it. If you are eligible for the tax credit, use that to start. If you have little equity it will be hard for you to get a loan & it definitely will not be low interest.
