I need help with my rent :(?
Hi well I live in a apartment and it has a new landlord but the landlord it's the one from 10 years ago. And I had a contract with him of paying $409 a month. Then they raised it to $500 though out the years. Now she wants me to pay $800 for a very small apartment. It has roaches, mice and the walls have not been painted..the rug is old... But I still want to live here cause I grew up here. I need help!! Can she raise that much. I'm suppose to pay $600 and she didn't want me to pay her the rent. She didn't get my money order. What should I do? Pay?? or do u have any ideas?? THANK YOU! :)

Unless you have rent control she can raise it as much as she wants. Even with rent control this would be about right after 10 years. You either pay the rent or move, not too complicated.

My guess is they want you out of there so they can get rid of the rats and roaches, then fix up and sell the place.

yes she can... if you have a written lease she has to wait until the lease expires though
