Well, obviously you should start by obtaining your Real Estate license. I am not quite sure what the requirements are in order to be an agent in Florida but most likely you will have to take around 60 (varies from state to state) in class hours, pass a background check and take a final test. Once you recieve your license and have a job your next move is advertisement. This is BY FAR the hardest part. There are many cheap and expensive ways to get your name out and advertisement is absolutely necessary to be sucessful. You can be VERY VERY sucessful by being a real estate agent, especially in Florida. I recieved my Real Estate license about four months ago and have a job with Century 21 in the Del Mar area in Southern California. Just recently I closed on my third house and after taxes I made around $58,000! You can make endless amounts of money by being a Real Estate agent but it all comes down to how much you work for it. Since I have became a Real Estate agent, I have found myself working 60 to 70 hours a week! It can be VERY overwhelming and stressfull but keep your head up high and sky's the limit! I was told that I wouldn't make more that $30,000 my first year but so far I have made over $160,000 in a few months! Also, if you do start making the "big bucks" make sure you save your money! I can't stress that enough! One of my friends ( also an agent ) drives around in a $110,000 Mercedes and lives in a multi million dollar home, I am not telling people to not go out and buy those kind of things but the Housing Market goes up and down so much you never know what you will be making next year. For all I know I could sell just one more house this year and maybe be lucky enough to make $50,000!
