Question

I want to get a credit card to build credit, are there any companies that will give me one? Any suggestions?

I tried to apply for a bill me now program at Toys R Us and was denied because I didn't have credit. I remembered my teacher saying to build good credit, get a credit card, buy something little (like gum) pay it off when the bill comes, then never use it again (cut it up). Which company will give me one because I have no credit? Is this a good way to build credit?

The first person is correct. You'll need to open up a secured credit card (from any bank). With that, you give them a cash amount (usually $300 or $500) and that will become your collateral and credit limit. After a year, if you make the minimum monthly payments on time, you have established a credit history and shouldn't have a problem receiving a regular credit card. You also get your money back once the terms end. **Oh, and don't buy gum and cut the credit card up. You'll need more than a month to establish credit. In fact, you'll need some form of open credit for the remainder of your life. The longer your credit history (assuming you pay all the bills on time) the better your chances for a new car, home, loans etc in the long run. Welcome to adulthood!!

Sounds like you'll need to open a secured credit card, Most banks will open one for you, Go to a branch and you'll need to open a CD with them that will be the collateral for the card, After several months, the card will usually unsecure and you get your money back. Good luck ...

Don't play the cedit card game. They make all the rules and can change the rules in the middle of the game. They, like the fico score was designed to nothing but get and keep you in debt. Secured cards are the worst. You pay a bank a hugh fee to practice going into debt so that you can get a real credit card and go into debt for real so that you can get a high fico score so that you can get even more debt. Banks sold this to the public. Like a bunch of Lemmings following each other off the cliff. If you are responsible with your money and live on less than you make. If you pay as you go and save up an emergency fund. You will not have payments. If you don't have payments. You have money. If you have money. You don't have to worship the great fico. Of course the banks are gonna tell you to borrow, borrow, borrow because they make lots of money on your debt. Just look around town. There is a bank on every corner.

Go to bankrate.com they have a secured cards you can apply for . What ever you do stay away from Capital One they are very evil with their customers . I would like to suggest to a plan for good debt management . Never exceed your line of credit by 15% of your NET pay . Meaning if you take home $20,000 free and clear . You line of credit should be only $3,000 . If you became unemployed that 15% has now become 30% to 50% of your unemployment benefits not to mentioned other household obligations . Plus it will look good on your credit report . Don't fall into the same trap as many other people have . Yes credit is very tempting but it will pull you down just as quickly

Now a days credit card is very essential one for every one. We like to keep a card to our wallet and spend money from it when ever needed. In case of emergency credit cards is very important and can lift us from our problems. But if we are stuck with poor credit getting credit card is very much challenging. But there is a good news. There are online banks and lenders who are ready to give instant credit card even to people with bad credit. www.creditcard4u.org

Are you a college student? If so, try student credit card sites like findcollegecards, etc. There are plenty of credit card companies out there that are willing to lend to you. If you're having a hard time, you might want to also try a secured card as well.

Get a credit card from local bank and pay it in time. You also can use this service to avoid common mistakes while buiding credit and pre-estimate future scores for different scenarios of payments - credit-report-score.10001mb.com
