I think my home is up for auction?

I put my condo up for short sale in July of 2009. I found a notice on my door from a Recontrust Company stating that the described property will be up for public auction on 17-December-09 and sold to the highest bidder. This is my first for a short sale and public auction. Who is Recontrust and can this happen even though I have the property up for sale.

This can only happen if you are not paying your mortgage payments. A For Sale sign does not stop an auction. This is the last step of a foreclosure.

Here is their website www ... Are you in foreclosure? Then yes, your home can be put up for auction whether or not you have it for sale.

Avoid them at ALL costs. They will try to "buy" your condo and basically rip you off. Unless you get something from the bank or the sheriffs department, DO NOT contact them.

Yes, this can happen even though you are trying to short sale your home. How behind are you on your mortgage? They usually don't foreclose on people who are current on their payments.

if it is in foreclosure and you have not made arrangements for payment, yes
