Question
Help with Payment Protection Insurance?
I have Payment Protection Insurance with a store card, I have just found out that I have this. I used to owe them just £30, but because I couldn't pay the money they put fees on top, I now owe about £90, and its been passed to a debt collector. I was made redundant and have no cash, was the payment protection there encase I lost my job? Would I be able to settle the bill using the insurance? I made the order after I was made redundant (I made the order by mistake, I didn't want what I ordered, It was a service and not an item so its not like I can send it back, the debt collectors don't want there money, and the business I ordered the service from said that there not going to give me any money back, I thought what I was ordering was a free trial, I was mistaken). Thank you very much

Darren The payment protection insurance would cover any payments for the amount outstanding on your card as at the date you were made redundant. You say you made the purchase AFTER you were made redundant - so this wont help you - sorry. You need to pay this debt off quickly or you'll just keep getting more fees added - Either - 1) Make an arrangement with the agency to pay back £5 per week for the next 18 weeks....and stick to this arrangement. 2) This is a pretty small sum. Try to borrow the cash from a member of your family and get this bill paid off. Then agre to pay the family member back over time. Better to owe them rather than the agency. Good luck
