ways to save money
Question
I signed a lease, what are my options for rent negotiation.?
I recently resigned my lease at my current apartments. I have lived there for 7 years. Do to the economy the apartments are offering great move in specials. The rent they are offering is way less then what I pay. Doesn't really seem fair that someone that is a good renter and saves them money with longevity doesn't get the same offer. Am I locked into the price at signed on the lease? To the post below. I did bring it up at the time of my lease. At the time their were no vacancies ergo no specials. Now that alot of units are vacant the rent $200 less that what I pay. I would actually save money if I broke my lease and moved back in a week or 2 later. Sounds kinda dumb but thats the truth. Plus the new residents have much more upgrades than the people that are current residents.

I think it is rude to answer a question with a question. Your negotiation period ended when you agreed to the landlord's terms by signing the lease. Just remember this next year. Good Luck!

You could always ask, but, they have the upper hand here since you willingly re signed the lease. This is the same scenario where cable companies etc will give 1/2 off to new customers but us old customers who have been paying for years have a huge bill.

You should have brought this up with the property manager. If you already signed the lease then you are out of luck.
