State farm life insurance?
I am very confused why my name is on a state farm life insurance check. I am 17 years old and someone sent it to me in the mail. I was selling some boots on craigslist and I gave a lady my home address for checking payments. Then today she sent me a check for life insurance. Can someone explain to me what's happening.

Do not cash the check!! I am thinking it could be fraud. This person could have stolen a check out of a State Farm office. Of course, I could be wrong, but I would call State Farm and ask them. Either call a local State Farm office and ask them to check on the check for you or ask for their main office or the phone number to the Life Insurance Operations Center. If this is completely wrong, then please post more info.

Ah, is this life insurance check for OVER the cost of the boots plus shipping? If so, it's most likely a forgery. It's a very common scam on Craigslist - you send someone a check, ask them to wire you the change, the check bounces sky high in about two weeks, and YOU are on the hook for the "change" you wired them.
